Nujabes Jun Seba hip hop master and DJ

Nujabes (1974 –2010) was a hugely influential Japanese hip-hop producer, record store owner and DJ who’s real name was Jun Seba 瀬葉淳 . In addition to collaborating with Japanese artists like Uyama Hiroto, Minmi and Shingo Annen (known as Shing02), Nujabes was probably best known as one of the most prolific contributors to the background music and soundtracks of Samurai Champloo, an anime which blends a feudal Japan setting with modern anachronisms, especially in regard to hip hop culture.

Nujabes’ sound also was unique in his incorporation of Jazz samples in his tunes. Listen to some of the best Japanese hip hop ever made!!

I love his Luv (Sic) pt.3 feat Shing02 – can listen to this song for hours. Nujabes died in a traffic accident last year, a real tragedy.
