Living in Japan? Like rock music?  The premier rock festival of the year, the Fuji Rock Festival 2009 フジロックフェスティバル 2009 in Niigata (about 2 hours from Tokyo) runs from July 24-26th and features the best line up in many years. The three day event includes  acts from all over the world and this year’s headliners include Oasis, Dinosaur Jr and Franz Ferdinand.

The festival which expects to attract 120,000 and 130,000 visitors , has nine different musical areas each featuring  a distinct vibe and audience.  As with previous festivals, the Green Stage is the main arena featuring the most mainstream acts and the White Stage features more indie-minded groups.

Oasis seem to like playing in Japan as the played the Makuhari Messe (Tokyo) and Osaka earlier this March.
