NUDYLINE ニューディーライン is a Japanese gal group made up of two members, 25 year old I-RING アイリン (left) from Ibaraki prefecture and 26 year old NANA ナナ(right)  from Hokkaido. Their music ranges across many genres, from pop and hip-hop to reggae and dancehall. The sexy gals were just regular party gals going to the clubs in Shibuya before they were spotted and made into a group.

NANA likes  Hip-Hop, Reggae and  Latin while I-Ring likes R&B, Hip-Ho and Classical music.  Nudyline’s music has been created with the collaboration of  DJ Tatsuya ディージェータツタ.

The gals have released 3 Singles – Sexual Carnival, Scorching Dancer and Real My Place and 1 album LA BAILARINA CALIENTE (2008).

In 2008, Japan Post issued a set of  stamps featuring Japanese anime  and manga Patlabor, the Mobile Police 機動警察パトレイバー,. The set of 10 commemorative stamps was created by Headgear, a group consisting of director Kazunori Ito (Ghost in the Shell), mechanical designer Yutaka Izubuchi (RahXephon), director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell), character designer Akemi Takada (Maison Ikkoku), and manga artist Masami Yuuki (Birdy the Mighty).

The ten 80-yen (about US$0.74) stamps feature the Ingram and Zero labor units as well as the characters Noa Izumi, Isao Ohta, Shinobu Nagumo, Asuma Shinohara, and members of Tokyo Metropolitan Police’s Special Vehicle Section 2.   The manga received the 36th Shogakukan Manga Award in 1991.

Tokyo born Asana Mamoru 護あさな is a relatively new Japanese gravure idol.  The tall 171cm 21 year old beauty with measurements: 85 – 56 – 87 cm debuted in 2009 and has since released 2 photo books, 3 digital photo books and 3 DVDs

Asana Momoru has appeared in magazines, Weekly Playboy, BOMB, Go-Gai, Weekly Young Jump, SPA!, Shukan Post, Shukan Gendai, Asahi Entertainment Weekly and Shukan Budan.   She has  also appeared as a guest on TV music shows Music Japan and Music Fighter and on a TV commercial for Sony Vaio

Japanese  TV commercials have a wacky and direct way of being able to be quite direct about things that are usually only alluded to in  commercials in other countries.

Take for example Delicare M’s デリケア m’s (delicate care for men), a topical cream for men with jock itch (itchy groin areas).   The TV commercial is weird, wacky and entertaining. The video says it all, with the first one beginning with three men exclaiming that “My…groin…itches!”.

Echizen Katsuyama Castle (Echizen Katsuyama-jo) located in Katsuyama 勝山市 in Fukui prefecture and which features 3 large dragons was built in 1579.  Today the castle is a museum which proudly displays a collection of artifacts from Japan and China, some of which date back 700 years. The castle itself is five tiered and contains 10 floors.  At 57.8 meters, measured from the bottom rock wall to the top of the fish adorning the roof, Katsuyama Castle is the tallest in Japan.

On display in the various  exhibition rooms are numerous historical and cultural Japanese artifacts, including a sword constructed during the Kamakura era. Besides various exhibition rooms, the castle also has a tea ceremony room and a library. From the sixth floor observatory there is a commanding view of Echizen Daibutsu, Katsuyama City and surrounding areas; even Mt. Hakusan can be seen.

There are three other big tourist attractions for those of you visiting Katsuyama, the world class  Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, the winter Ski Jam Katsuyama and the  Daishizan Seidaiji temple (Echizen Daibutsu) which contains  biggest bronze Buddha statue in Japan.

Risa Sawaki 澤木律沙 is a 23 year old Japanese gravure idol from Chiba prefecture.  The 166cm tall G-cup beauty with measurements B90 W58 H86 has released 7 DVDs since 2008 including last year’s release  OTOGINATION.

Noto Airport 能登空港 (aka Wajima Airport 輪島空港) is a modern, small class 3, domestic airport in the city of Wajima 輪島市 ( a town famous for its lacquerware 輪島塗) on the Noto Peninsula  能登半島 of Ishikawa Prefecture 石川県, in Western Japan.  The greenfield airport which has its only cute logo, was completed in mid 2003 and it has an interesting operating model.

Initially, Japanese airline All Nippon Airways (ANA) was only willing to operate one flight per day. Ishikawa Prefecture  suggested Japan’s first occupancy guarantee agreement (搭乗率保証制度), in which ANA agreed to operate two daily flights and in exchange Ishikawa Prefecture agreed to compensate ANA if occupancy fell below a set target (initially 70%) and gross ticket sales were under 200 million yen.

However, the agreement also specified that if the target is exceeded, ANA must pay the excess back to Ishikawa Prefecture. So far, the agreement seems to have been mutually beneficial.

Quickgirl is an intriquing film noir segment from the Japanese Vermilion Pleasure Night バミリオン・プレジャー・ナイト TV show.  Quickgirl  involves 4 sexy Japanese female assassins who each have a contract to kill one another.  During the skit not a single word of dialogue is spoken and instead of dialogue you hear an ambient/techno like soundtrack that changes themes according to the situation and which ever assassin happens to be on screen at the time.  The four assassins are:

Mary: The main character. A woman donning all black leather and sports a big hat. Her special skill is sniping. Mary spends the majority of her time chilling at a fine restaurant and waiting for the precise moment to strike.

Lina: The other main character. Her special skill is that she is highly trained with blades.
She wears all white and is cunningly cold & vicious. Not only is she deadly with a knife, Lina also possesses the ability to scan an area in search of any invisible threat who could do potential harm to her.

Reiko:  She wears a green leather jacket.  She is the tactician of the four rivals. She is the least eccentric of the Quick girls. Reiko gets the least screen time.

Erika: The oddball of the four female assassins.  She wears skintight clothing and is by far the cutest of the four hit women. Erika likes to lick ice cream cones and has a really sweet ride.
She seems a bit aloof but she uses that to her advantage.
