Wakana Matsumoto, prettier than Nozomi Sasaki?

Wakana Matsumoto 松本若菜 is a very pretty Japanese actress and model from Tottori prefecture Japan. She is mostly known for her role as Airi Nogami in the tokusatsu drama Kamen Rider Den-O (TV Asahi 2007). She has also appeared in Keishicho Sosa Ikka 9 Gakari 4 (TV Asahi, 2009, ep1) and Around 40 (TBS, 2008).

This year she has appeared in movies Maho no I Land DVD: SixDays + another story and Fujoshi Kanojo, TV show “Cho” Kowai Hanashi Fictions Yumeaki Hirayama Gankyu Yuen, released one idol DVD couleur – Shikisai and just in time for Christmas, a 2010 calendar.

Though not as popular and famous as Nozomi Sasaki, many of her fans think she is prettier!

Rumi Koizumi left Idoling!!!

Earlier this year twenty year old Rumi Koizumi 小泉瑠美 of Jpop idol group Idoling!!! アイドリング!!! announced her retirement from the group. Koizumi was one of Idoling!!!’s original nine members who made their TV debut in October 2006. Rumi Koizumi remains under the Watanabe Entertainment talent agency and will continue working in other areas of the entertainment business. Idoling!!! will continue on as a 16-member group.

Ai Iijima 饭岛爱 is a 34 year old media personality and former AV star. Her real name is Mitsuko Ishii and in her late teens, she appeared on late night adult TV game shows as a “T-Back girl”, one of the models wearing a skimpy thong. Her stage name was chosen by a fan survey.

She later entered into the Adult Video business and became a big star but quit by the age of 20. After this, she crossed over into mainstream television variety shows, one of the few “talent” so far to successfully make such a transition. She is now an established celebrity on Japanese television, appearing in travel, lifestyle, game shows, and quiz shows.

In 2001 she published Platonic Sex, a semi-autobiographical novel about a young girl leaving home to escape her parents and ending up as an adult movie star. The book was turned into a television series and a theatrical movie and is a bestseller in Japan.

Ryoko Yonekura is a 31 year old former ballerina, fashion model and one of the most visible and popular actresses on TV and in magazines. This Kanagawa native started modelling at the age of 17 and worked steadily over the next seven years as a fashion model, campaign girl and in TV commercials. In 2000 she made her leap into acting starring in the TBS drama Koi no Kamisama (God of Love) and has since appeared in many TV dramas.

Long Vacation Remembered

It was 10 years ago that a hugely popular TV Drama called Long Vacation aired on Fuji TV, and launched the acting career of superstar Takuya Kimura 木村拓哉, (popularly known as “Kimu-taku”). The show also popularised the other actors Tomoko Yamaguchi, Yutaka Takenouchi, Takako Matsu, Ryoko Hirosue and Izumi Namori. The drama was about love and relationships and garnered very high ratings because of the compelling storylines. Monday nights became big TV nights as people rushed home to watch it. If you’re at all interested in Japanese pop culture, this is an enjoyable series worth watching.
Everyone who remembers the series will also instantly recognize the theme song “La La La Love Song” by soul singer Toshi Kubota.

Takashi Sorimachi

Takashi Sorimachi (born NOGUCHI Takashi) is a 33 year old male celebrity/idol and singer from Saitama. He started his showbiz carreer by joining the famous, Johnny’s Jimusho agency, (home of mega group SMAP ) in the late 1980’s as back up dancer for boy band Hikaru Genji.

Not achieving much there, he got into modeling at the age of 16 and then branched into TV starring in Virgin Road in early 1997. Later that year it was the highly popular drama Beach Boys in which he played a macho charachter (and also starred Takenouchi Yutaka) that made him a star.

His next big role brought him even greater fame and commercial succes. He starred in Great Teacher Onizuka, both the TV drama series and subsequent movie.

In February 2001, Sorimachi married his GTO co-star, the extremely popular (and everyman’s Dream Wife) Nanako Matsushima.

Miracle Hikaru ミラクルひかるの is a Japanese celebrity impersonator from Toyooka in Hyōgo prefecture. Although she has done impersonations of Mari Hamada, Ayumi Hamasaki, Paako Hayashiya, Shizuka Kudō, Seiko Matsuda, Yumi Matsutoya, Aya Matsūra, Chisato Moritaka, Tomoko Nakajima (of Othello), Yukie Nakama, Masami Nagasawa, Moe Oshikiri, Keiko Toda, Juri Ueno and You, she is best known for her amazing impressions of Jpop diva Utada Hikaru.

Miracle has one released one album Miracle 2008 but she does not cover any of Hikki’s songs

Otaku cosplay kickboxer Yuichiro Jienotsu Nagashima, 長島☆自演乙☆雄一郎 has appeared in a cosplay special featuring cute fashion model and actress Nozomi Sasaki and popular TBS announcer Yuko Aoki 青木裕子. Yuichiro brought the two to dress up in Akihabara at Cosmate Plus where Nozimi dressed as an akihbara maid.

This was part of a pre-match special featuring Yuchiro in the K1 World Max 2009 where he lost to Albert Kraus.
