Former Japanese gravure idol Megumi Yasu 安めぐみ turned actress and TV host is a Tokyo gal.  She was a model for TOPCAT (Sendai TV) in 1998 and received some national attention in 1999 when she entered the Weekly Young Jump High School Uniform contest and tried her hand at singing releasing a single Private Venus in 2000.

Between 1980-1983 wrestling great Hulk Hogan preformed in Japan in the New Japan Pro Wrestling league were he was nicknamed  “Ichiban” (which translates to “Number One”).  He toured the country from time to time over the next few years, facing a wide variety of opponents ranging from Tatsumi Fujinami to Abdullah the Butcher.

Hogan’s popularity in Japan was so great, he even recorded an album there, appeared on a manga comic and also later appeared on a TV commercial for Hitachi promoting their Bigflow air-conditioners.

Super slim and fit Japanese actress Kazue Fukiishi 吹石一恵 appeared as a sexy kickboxer fighting a giant carrot “Ninjin-kun” for this commercial for  the Japanese  Spo-Vege  スポベジ (Sports-Vegetable)  health drink.

Created by Asahi and Asahi Soft Drinks and Kagome and aimed at health conscious Japanese women who want to keep slim, this healthy sports drink introduced in 2009 is an alternative to the sugary caffeinated drinks available on the market.

Morinaga’s 森永製菓 Hi-Chew ハイチュウ is  a soft chewy fruity-flavored Japanese candy popular in Japan and the rest of Asia. The  candy was first released in Japan in 1975 and re-released in its current shape (a stick of several individually-wrapped candies) in February 1986.
