Earlier this year, wanting to create some publicity, Japanese hair fashion magazine HairMag.jp. hired some bald models to walk around Harajuku and Shibuya. The Japanese girls with no hair (wearing bald wigs actually) created quite a stir everywhere they went.

Japan-Zone.com is very popular portal in Japan. It contains a huge amount of relevant information and what is unique is their celebrity and entertainment news (in English) which is a must for anyone who follows Japanese pop culture!

There is a nice search bar on the right hand side that makes navigation quick and easy and also a free sign up for their newsletter. I also like the big KanjiClock which you can purchase from their site.

On an initial glance, the quality of content is abundant with sections on living, travelling and working as well as history and famous people in Japan (so when your Japanese friends mention so and so, you have an idea who they are talking about!) Also, check out their sections on learning Japanese and employment and don’t forget to drop by their active forums to meet other Japanophiles.

Without doubt, one of the most popular and best features is their Japan-Zone Friends service which has over 1 million members which makes it easy for you to find friends in Japan!
