Artist Kumi Yamashita’s appearance on Japanese TV
New York based Japanese artist Kumi Yamashita received alot of attention in the Art World in 2009 with her “shadow pieces”. Her artworks are actually the shadows created from various objects precisely positioned on the space when using a specific light source from the proper angle.
Kumi received her BFA in the Cornish College of the Arts in Washington State and later went on tho do an MFA in the Glasgow School of Art in the UK.
Due to her popularity, Kumi made several appearances on Japanese TV.
